Since your first GradSimple feature, how has your life and career evolved?

Since my first interview, I’ve switched jobs, focusing more on things relating to one of my prior roles in digital marketplaces. I’ve also expanded my hobby list beyond just travelling and gaming. I’m still in a similar role related to Operations, but making the shift from a typical startup to a company that’s much more developed and able to take bets is a big change for me.

One thing that’s changed the most is my desire to try and achieve more, and be able to run my own projects without being held behind due to a lack of resources or being in companies where taking large bets isn’t something they’d normally consider. I’ve moved roles from being in Revenue Operations to one that is a bit more focused on success and sales as a Success Operations Analyst for a unicorn tech startup based in the US.

I wasn’t looking for a new role or a job, and my prior organization was definitely one that was very easy-going and not as fast-paced. It limited my long-term plans, especially if I wanted to pursue my EMBA. I needed to show progress and some larger swings that can drive my personal statement forward.I still travel quite a bit, averaging about four flights a month for someone who works entirely from home, but it’s something that I enjoy, and along with me being able to explore my childhood card games like Pokémon, it’s been really enjoyable.

If there’s something I’d tell my old self from my first interview, I’d say, “Don’t be afraid to take risks and know that there’s always someone willing to help you out.”
